The garage sale was a hit! Grandma Francine’s dusty old lamps and saucers were especially popular! By the end of the day, we’ve made $180 and raked in a whopping seventy-two connections, with endorsements like Good negotiation!, Excellent sales skills!, and Good strategic thinking!

Bowen, Lea, and I high-five each other after my friend Christopher and the last customers of the day leave.

“THAT. WAS. AWESOME,” I say, counting the crisp cash bills.

“At this rate, we’ll get to five hundred connections in no time!” Bowen says.

“Let’s hold another one next weekend!” Lea suggests excitedly.

Our enthusiasm wanes when Mom steps into the garage. She takes one look at the empty bins in the garage and asks, “Where are all of Grandma Francine’s old antiques?”

I gulp loudly.
